After graduating university, Katie got a job as a monumantal draftesman for Strettle Memorials in North Tyneside. Whilst at Strettles, Katie worked on creating drafts on the computer which were then cut and blasted onto gravestones. She also worked alongside the forman, painting the more intricate or different designs and guilding stones.
